I recognize that my blog has languished lo for the past 49 days. And I’m not about to make it 50! I’m finally putting an end to this blog hiatus. Hopefully.

Apparently, my first dose of IE subjects wooed me out to lull. But I guess that’s fine. It’s academics over blogging for now. I know it’s all too satirical to hear such strong words from my mouth. Some of my friends actually sniggered at the thought. Sure, a lot of people (way busier than I am) could still afford to blog despite the hectic schedule. Sadly, I am not as good as a juggler that they have grown to be. The only things I could manage at this very moment are my academic load, dorm activities and organization application. By August perhaps, I could learn the trick to juggling four, adding blogging to the list.

Interesting things have happened since I left General Santos, but I know you couldn’t care less. So I’ll go on with blabbing and you will click that x button which will ask if you are sure about closing the tab and you will think again. Haha. And yes. You will reconsider the idea since you have all the time in your hands. But if you believe that you can’t afford to waste precious minutes, then I suggest that you click yes.

10 Notable Updates from the 49 days of Silence

Since it is an update, I think it’s just apt to put it in bullets.

  1. The best way to start a semester is a dreaded enrolment and no one does it like UP. But I won’t whine about how CRS gave me 6 units or how I spent 6 excruciating days in never-ending queues for direct enlistment and payment. It’s a given fact: registration induces misery.
  2. I still stay in Yakal. It’s our biggest advantage over the rest of the Engineering crowd, living directly at the rear of my academic building. When I say rear, I mean right at the back of Melchor Hall, just a street apart. This entitles me NO valid reason to be late.
  3. My headshot for Project Headshot Clinic Manila: One World was released last week. Although some people find it unappealing, I still think it’s nice. I don’t get to pose for a headshot by Niccolo Cosme everyday.
  4. I am currently assuming the responsibilities of a Corridor Representative. It’s not much of a work, really. Anyone can handle it. But I regard it as something grand. In fact, I am enjoying the experience.
  5. I am taking 7 subjects this semester. (IE 21 – Industrial Materials and Processes, IE 27 – Probability and Statistics for IE, IE 31 – Industrial Organization and Management, Econ 100.1 – Macroeconomic Theory and Policy, ES 13 – Mechanics of Deformable Bodies BY MIKE SARGADO, Philosophy 1 and Fin Swimming). If you are an expert in one of these fields, feel free to buzz/contact me. You and your teeming knowledge are most welcome here. Expect more ranting about these come finals week. LOL
  6. Mikko is now in UP. I’m still trying to get the hang of being an ate once again. Although we went to the same schools since kindergarten, I feel that this time, I need to be more caring and accommodating. After all, that’s what siblings do.
  7. Mikko and I missed the Coke Bloggers’ Event but we had the chance to watch the launching of SM North Edsa’s DCinema. It was FUN watching Journey to the Center of the Earth in full 3D glory. All made possible by Kuya Ed. Thanks Kuya! More about this as soon as I get hold of the pictures.
  8. I have signified my intention to join two/three organizations namely UP Circle of Industrial Engineers (CIEM), Philippine Society of Youth Science Clubs (PSYSC) and perhaps a CHK (College of Human Kinetics) Organization. I’m still working on my stamina through jogging and healthy eating once in a while.
  9. I am in the process of finding myself a part-time job. I want to tutor kids. Since Andy will be spending most of his time in his laboratory application and I will be buried in my case and company studies, tutoring will be the most productive way of recreation from all the academic stress.
  10. Speaking of stress, I have surprisingly lost 5 kilograms since May 2008. Believe it or not, I have shred more or less 11 pounds because of school work. I have dropped almost 2 sizes in my shirts and a size or 2 in my pants. But here’s the catch, I’m just skinny in my upper body, all the rest are the same. I am still the old Cecile with the ‘voluptuously’ big thighs and well-defined calves.
